How we choose our products
We spend most of our time finding and choosing Makers whose work will last in your home. We focus on Europe for its centuries-old craft traditions, smaller workshops, and makers who’ve refined their work over generations.
Every Maker and product passes through two layers of review: our team and independent experts. Together, we look for five qualities that define what makes something worth keeping.

1. Durable materials
We choose natural, long-lasting materials: solid woods, stone, natural fibres, metal, glass, ceramic, leather. Ideally sourced locally or responsibly. Veneer or recycled plastic only when they’re the right fit, never the easy one.

2. Craft and quality
We evaluate quality through use-case fit – from the angle of outdoor tabletops that let rainwater flow off to the joint techniques that ensure strength for generations. We work with Makers who often master one craft or material. This deep focus allows them to understand materials and techniques inside out.

3. Timeless design
We look for proof of timelessness – whether it’s a traditional pattern, a design icon that has remained in use for decades, or a contemporary piece with clear roots in function and form. We choose designs that feel as good as they look: balanced, lasting, and made for daily use.

4. Care and repair
A Keeper is made to be maintained. We seek Makers who offer repairs, parts, or guidance so each piece can age well.

5. Cultural value
We choose work that carries a sense of place and people, something you’d gift, inherit, or keep because it holds memory as much as function.
We keep learning
We stay in touch with Makers and track how pieces age in real homes. If something doesn’t feel right, let us know and we’ll make it right.
