Angel Holding Candles
Made in Grünhainichen, Germany by Wendt & Kühn
A handcrafted wooden angel by Wendt & Kühn, based on a candle-bearing design sketched by Grete Wendt in 1912. Made in Grünhainichen and painted by hand, this 18 cm white angel carries the quiet elegance of one of the company’s earliest figures – a design Grete once sent to her brother on the front at Christmas in 1914. A timeless piece for the Advent season.

The Green of Hope
First designed in 1923, the angels’ green wings reflect Grete Wendt’s belief in harmony and hope. The distinctive hue now mixed to her original specification is still applied by hand, dot by dot, to create the gentle warmth that makes these angels so recognisable.
