Care Instructions
Environment
Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources (radiators, fireplaces), and humidity extremes (below 40% or above 60%). These can cause colour change, cracking, deformation, or damage to wood and cane. Avoid sharp objects, rough surfaces, or contact with hard materials (e.g. metal parts, pet claws), which may scratch or damage the surface.
Wooden parts
Wood is a natural material, so variations in colour, grain, and small knots are normal and not defects. Over time, slight changes may occur, including colour shifts, small surface cracks, or texture becoming more visible. Wipe spills immediately to prevent stains or marks from liquids.
Lacquered surface
Dust with a soft lint-free cloth (cotton, linen, buckskin). Don’t press hard. Wipe spills immediately, let the area dry. Cleaning products not necessary, if used, follow manufacturer instructions. Never use: solvents (acetone, benzene, trichloroethylene), abrasive pastes/powders, furniture polish or oil/wax-based products.
Oiled surface
Dust with a dry lint-free cloth. Wipe spills immediately in the direction of the wood grain, dry right after. Re-oil periodically when spots feel rough or porous. Use a recommended product and test on a hidden area first. Never use: solvents or abrasive pastes/powders.
Cane seat & backrest
Cane is a natural material that can dry out over time – maintain stable humidity to prevent cracking. Do not stand or kneel on cane parts, as this can cause permanent damage. Clean gently with a soft brush or low-suction vacuum.
Use & handling
Chairs are designed for sitting, avoid standing or placing excessive weight on specific parts. Slight movement or settling in bentwood parts can occur and is a natural behaviour of the material.
Screws & joints
Regularly check and tighten all screws and bolts. Loose joints can lead to damage over time.
